Out with the Old

Since 1950, Routzahn’s has sold furniture in Maryland and ever from 1972 they have occupied this showroom.  Well times are a changing, and although the building has been sold and the shop has closed, there are plans to relocate.  Still, when a community icon closes its doors, there always seems to be an air of nostalgia that surrounds it.  I actually bought furniture from them and have been enjoying the family room set for quite some time.  So today, as I was out at lunch, I saw the sign being taken down and the process of clearing the facade begun.  When I got close enough, I noticed that I could capture the road sign in the photo as well and I knew I had the composition I wanted.  The only question left is, will the road name need to be changed as well?  May 9, 2012
